🎮 Noun, Verb or Particle?
Every Arabic word is one of three kinds
📖 About this game
A game about the kinds of the Arabic word, the wording of the competency in the Unit 1 guide. A whole sentence appears with one word coloured inside it, and the child drops that word in the basket of its kind: noun, verb or particle. The word is shown inside its sentence rather than alone because a word’s kind is a judgement on its job, and pulling it out deletes half the evidence. The explanation is the definition of the kind itself, so it carries to any other sentence. The interface speaks English while the Arabic sentence is always spoken in Arabic. Four sentences per kind. No sign-up.
🕹️ How to play
- Read the Arabic sentence, or listen to it.
- Look at the coloured word: does it point to a thing, to an event, or to nothing on its own?
- Tap the matching basket: noun, verb or particle.
- Every word you get first try counts for you.
