🎮 Which Is Faster?
Average speed is measured by dividing, not by looking
📖 About this game
A game on the motion lesson in the forces and motion unit, whose law reads: average speed equals distance divided by time. Why the racers are nine cyclists told apart by their colours rather than a car, a plane and a camel: a learner would answer ten out of ten from everyday experience without dividing once, and the question would measure nothing, while two bicycles differing only in their two numbers cannot be answered except by dividing. Half the rounds have the faster racer covering the shorter distance and half have him taking the longer time, and every pair that could be answered by instinct alone is removed from the draw, since a racer who went further in less time measures no understanding. The answer is computed from the distance and the time at build time rather than typed by hand, and the reveal carries out both divisions as proof, so the learner sees where the verdict came from. Ten comparisons. No sign-up.
🕹️ How to play
- Look at the racers: each carries a distance and a time.
- Divide distance by time for each of them.
- Tap the one with the larger result.
- Every comparison you get first try counts for you.
