🎮 Property or Change?

Physical and chemical on two axes, not one

📖 About this game

A game on the two lessons of physical properties and changes and chemical properties and changes. The book itself puts both axes in a single sentence, so the baskets are four rather than two: did the make-up of the matter change or not, and did the act actually happen or is it only a tendency that has not happened yet. A learner asked only physical or chemical answers half the lesson, one asked only property or change answers the other half, and understanding lies precisely in holding both at once. Every property in the content has its twin change present in the same set, the ductility of copper beside copper actually drawn into wire, the melting point of ice beside ice actually melting, so nothing separates them except grasping that a property is a tendency and a change is an event. The reveal shows that twin as proof after the tap, while the explanation states the rule in the abstract. Twelve cards. No sign-up.

🕹️ How to play

  1. Read the card carefully.
  2. Ask first: did the make-up of the matter change?
  3. Then ask: did it happen, or is it only a tendency? Tap the basket that holds both answers.
  4. Every card you get first try counts for you.
