🎮 Which of the Three Authorities?

Executive, regulatory and judicial

📖 About this game

A game on the lesson of the authorities of the state in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, whose first activity says word for word that the pupils identify the kind of authority for the following government bodies, the Council of Ministers, the Shura Council and the courts, with three choices for each. So the game is the book own activity, and its three baskets are the activity three choices rather than an invented naming of them; and that is why baskets rather than buttons, since the activity is a repeated sorting of bodies into three fixed places. Why the sorted cards are not only the names of the councils: a learner who memorised that the Shura Council is regulatory has understood nothing about regulation, so half the cards are bodies and half are powers stated in the lesson, and understanding is measured by function rather than by name. The expected mistake in this lesson is confusing the regulatory with the executive, since to a learner both of them act, so reviewing the performance reports of government bodies was placed with the regulatory as the chart has it, and it is the sharpest trap of all. Every basket holds one short card and one long one, so that the length of the text never becomes a clue. What each authority produces appears at the reveal, and it is the bottom row of the book own chart. Twelve cards. No sign-up.

🕹️ How to play

  1. Read the card: a government body or a power.
  2. Ask: does it carry out, does it regulate, or does it settle disputes?
  3. Tap the matching basket out of the three.
  4. Every card you get first try counts for you.
