📖 About this game

A game about the three patterns of the Arabic noun of instrument as the book’s examples give them: مِفْعَل, مِفْعال and مِفْعَلَة. The tool appears with its picture, its name and what it does; the child chooses its pattern, and the pattern is then shown applied to the word. The picture says nothing at all about the pattern — it brings the meaning close without hinting — and what the tool does is written because it helps in reading the name rather than in knowing the pattern. The pattern is shown applied rather than bare, because مِفْعال on its own is a string of letters while "مِفْتاح is on the pattern مِفْعال" is the rule drawn onto the example. Four tools per pattern.
