🎮 Doer or Done-to?
The Arabic active and passive participle
📖 About this game
A game about the active and the passive participle from the three-letter verb, the wording of the competency in the Unit 1 guide and the "derived nouns" lesson. The word appears alone, the child drops it in the basket of its kind, and the verb it comes from together with its pattern then appears as the proof. The verb is hidden in the question because كَتَبَ becoming مَكْتوب gives the pattern away at a glance, so the child first judges by the pattern visible in the word itself. The symbol above the card is the same in every round: had it changed with the kind it would give the answer away before the pattern was read. Six words per kind. No sign-up.
🕹️ How to play
- Look at the word and listen to it.
- Ask: is it on the pattern فاعِل or on the pattern مَفْعول?
- Tap the matching basket.
- Every word you get first try counts for you.
