A game about the table inside a database, with its terms from the first lesson of the Databases unit: the table, then the record, then the field. Why the child taps the table itself and not a button beneath it: the difference between a record and a field is a direction inside the table, a row or a column, not two names to memorise. A child who taps the row has grasped that a record is everything we know about one single entry. The sharpest trap in this lesson is deliberate: where is Sarah’s record is answered by the row handle and not by the name cell, because a cell is one piece of data while the record is the whole row, and the reveal lights the whole row so the difference is seen rather than told.
