A game on the lesson of so versus such. The patterns are four rather than two: one before an adjective alone, one before a plural count noun, one before a noncount noun, and one before a noun phrase. Why four baskets: the difference between the two middle patterns is half the lesson, and a learner asked only so or such never meets the count and noncount distinction, which is the finest point in the chapter. The data holds a deciding pair: the same frame with two different words, one countable and one not, so nothing separates them except understanding rather than memory. The sentence is shown missing its pattern because the pattern is the answer, and it is assembled whole at the reveal together with its abstract structure, pattern then word then kind of noun.
