🎮 Because or So?
The connector of reason and the connector of result
📖 About this game
A game on the lesson of because versus so. The rule in the book: one connector introduces the reason and answers the question why did this happen, and the other introduces the result and answers the question what followed from it. Why the comma is never printed in the question: a comma travels with one connector and never with the other, so leaving it in the sentence would announce the answer before the learner thinks, and it is restored at the reveal, computed from the key. The data deliberately holds a reversed pair: two sentences carrying the same facts, where the connector follows their order rather than their meaning, so a learner who memorised the sentence falls while one who understood the order is right. The reveal tints the reason half in one colour and the result half in another, and which half is which is computed from the key so it can never contradict it. Ten sentences. No sign-up.
🕹️ How to play
- Read the sentence, or listen to it.
- Ask: which half is the reason and which is the result?
- Tap the connector that joins them in that order.
- Every sentence you get first try counts for you.
