📖 About this game

A game about rounding numbers to the nearest ten, hundred and thousand, the sixth lesson in the place-value chapter. Every round draws a number line with the two landmarks and the midpoint between them, and puts the number at its true position, so the child sees which landmark it is nearer to; the "5 or more" rule then arrives in the explanation as an account of what he saw rather than a substitute for it. The distractor in each question is the number rounded to a different place, because that is the expected mistake in this lesson. Four questions per place. No sign-up.

1. Read the question: which place are we rounding to?
2. Look at the red dot on the line: is it before the midpoint or past it?
3. Tap the nearest landmark from the three.
4. Every number you get first try counts for you.
