📖 About this game

A game about powers and exponents, the third lesson in the algebra, number patterns and functions chapter. A power appears with its base and its raised exponent, the child chooses its value, and the expansion is then shown in full: 3 x 3 x 3 x 3 = 81. The distractors are computed rather than random: multiplying the base by the exponent, which is the commonest mistake; swapping them; and adding them. The expansion is hidden in the question because it is the definition of a power, so printing it would turn the question into ordinary multiplication. Twelve questions. No sign-up.

1. Read the power: which is the base and which is the exponent?
2. The exponent says how many times the base is multiplied by itself.
