A game about the simple past in both its regular and irregular forms, the grammar of Unit 4 in the book’s Scope and Sequence. A whole sentence appears with a single gap and the base form under it in brackets, as the book’s exercises write it, and the child chooses the correct form from three. The distractor is the wrongly regularised form — goed, stoped, studyed — which is the learner’s expected mistake word for word rather than an invented option. The explanation gives the rule for the past: doubling, the y turning into i, and the irregular verb. Six regular verbs and six irregular. No sign-up.
