🎮 How Deep Are You?

The layers inside the Earth and their depths

📖 About this game

A game on the lesson of the rocky sphere and the layers inside the Earth, with their depths as the book states them: the crust from the surface down, then the upper mantle, then the lower mantle, then the outer core, then the inner core down to the centre. Why the depth is given as a number and the section is touched rather than a layer name picked from a list: a layer is a range and not a name to be memorised, and a learner who places the number inside its range has read the section. The names are hidden in the question because they are the answer, and they appear at the reveal in their place on the section, together with the temperature of the layer and its physical state. The layer is computed from the depth itself and never typed by hand, so a name can never contradict the boundaries of its range. Two depths in each layer, and the balance is not optional, or the learner would learn that the widest layer is the likeliest. Ten rounds. No sign-up.

🕹️ How to play

  1. Read the depth asked for in the question.
  2. Look at the section: each band is a range of depths.
  3. Touch the band this depth falls into.
  4. Every depth you get first try counts for you.
