A game on relative pronouns. The rule: one pronoun refers back to a person, another to things and animals, and a third serves for both. Why every sentence carries two nouns, a person and a thing: a relative clause tells about the noun it follows and not about the first noun in the sentence, and that is the expected mistake of this lesson. A learner who looks only at the first noun is wrong, one who looks at the noun next to the blank is right, and none of this shows unless the sentence holds two nouns of different kinds. The sentence is shown missing its pronoun because the pronoun is the answer, and it is written out whole at the reveal with the described noun marked in colour and the relative clause underlined. The third pronoun that serves for both is named at the reveal rather than offered as a button, because as an option it would measure no understanding. Ten sentences. No sign-up.
