A game on the Arabic lesson of sound and weak verbs, whose conclusion reads: a sound verb is one whose root letters contain no weak letter, and it is of three kinds, hamzated, doubled and safe; a weak verb is one whose root letters include a weak letter, and its kinds are the assimilated verb whose first letter is weak, the hollow verb whose middle letter is weak, and the defective verb whose last letter is weak. Why the learner touches a letter cell rather than a button carrying the name of a kind: the lesson defines the kinds by position and not by name, and its own activity says word for word that in one verb the first letter is weak, in another the middle, in another the last. So touching the letter answers with the position itself, and the name is given at the reveal as the fruit. The grid of letter cells is the book own device. The no-weak-letter cell is not an escape but half the lesson: a sound verb is one whose roots hold no weak letter, so it cannot be known until the learner has searched and found none, and it is the expected mistake when the hamza of one verb or the doubling of another is counted as weakness. The kind is computed from the verb itself by splitting its letters, so no hand-written answer can contradict the letters shown. The verb is always shown in the bare past tense, because the book own note says that to tell a sound verb from a weak one we take the verb back to the bare past.
