🎮 Sorting Waste

Which bin takes this?

📖 About this game

A game about disposing of solid waste, from the My Environment unit. The four categories and their bin colours are taken word for word from the lesson on waste that can be recycled: paper such as newspapers, magazines and cardboard boxes in the blue bin, plastic such as water bottles and plastic bags in the yellow bin, glass such as bottles or broken pieces of glass in the green bin, and metal such as cans and car bodies in the red bin. An item appears described by its material and its look, the child drops it in its bin, and the book’s examples for that category then appear. All four bins share one shape and differ only in colour, exactly as in the book and in the street, and the item is never coloured in its category’s colour so the colour never becomes the answer printed inside the question. Three items per bin. No sign-up.

🕹️ How to play

  1. Look at the item, or listen to its description.
  2. Ask: what is it made of? Paper, plastic, glass or metal?
  3. Tap the matching bin from the four.
  4. Every item you get first try counts for you.
