🎮 Which Is Nearer the Sun?
The eight planets of the solar system
📖 About this game
A game on the Solar System lesson in the Universe and Earth unit, whose own assessment says the pupils write the names of the planets according to their distance from the Sun. Why a comparison between two rather than ordering all eight at once: ordering eight names is memorising before it is understanding and one slip loses the whole thing, while which is nearer is answered by meaning and the full ladder then appears at every reveal so the order is learned by repetition. Half the rounds pair neighbours in the order and half pair distant planets: neighbours measure the exact order, distant ones build the picture of the whole system. The answer is computed from the order field rather than typed by hand, so it can never contradict the ladder shown beside it, and the shared traits of the planets appear one fact at a time. Ten comparisons. No sign-up.
