📖 About this game

A game on the introduction to the periodic table, whose text reads: the elements in the modern periodic table are ordered by increasing atomic number, a horizontal row is a period and a vertical column is a group. Why the grid is shown empty of symbols in the question: the symbol is the answer, and printing it in its place would turn the question into reading rather than understanding. The learner counts from the start of the table until reaching the number asked for, applying the ordering rule with his own hand. The columns are eight, an even number, so a learner who counts from the wrong end lands on a different cell and his mistake shows, which is the expected mistake in this lesson. The direction of the grid is pinned left to right as the table is printed in the book, or the order would flip on an Arabic page and the table would no longer be the chemists table. The reveal fills the grid with every symbol and names the period and the group of the element. Ten elements. No sign-up.
